Iran condemns attacks on civilians in Sudan

TEHRAN, May 13 (MNA) -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini has condemned the violent attacks on civilians in Khartoum and Omdurman.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly voiced its support for Sudan’s government and calls for a solution to the current conflict through negotiations between that government and the other sides in the conflict,” he said here on Tuesday.

Iran is opposed to the use of violence for gaining power, he added.

Pointing to Iran’s previous mediation between Sudan and Chad, Hosseini stated that the Islamic Republic is prepared to continue its efforts until these regional conflicts are resolved.
